Play is the language of children. It is how they explore the world, understand themselves, develop relationships and learn new skills. Through play, children build social and emotional skills, develop physical abilities and support healthy brain development.
Because play is a child's natural way of communicating, Play Therapy provides a fun, safe and inclusive environment where children can express themselves, process experiences and develop healthy ways of coping.

Play Therapy can support children aged 3 to 12 years with a range of emotional, behavioural and developmental concerns, including:

Kim holds a Master of Child Play Therapy and is nearing completion of her Master of Counselling. She has also completed studies in Positive Psychology and Yoga Therapy, and is an experienced Animal-Assisted Therapist.
Kim provides:
Kim believes every child deserves to be heard and understood. She works at each child's pace, giving them choice and control throughout the therapeutic process while creating a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.

Kim's friendly Chihuahua, Penny, may join sessions where appropriate.
Penny loves meeting new people, enjoys plenty of pats and helps many children feel relaxed and welcome. She can even gently assist children who are working through a fear of dogs.

Every Play Therapy session is private and confidential. Kim works alongside each child in a way that helps them feel safe, valued and empowered to express themselves.
Parents and carers are supported throughout the therapeutic journey, with sessions tailored to meet each child's individual needs and goals.

Play Therapy is available exclusively at our Alfredton clinic. Our clinic provides a calm, welcoming and child-friendly environment designed to help children feel comfortable, engaged and supported throughout their therapy.

If you're considering Play Therapy for your child, we're here to help. During the initial appointment, Kim will discuss your child's strengths, challenges and goals before developing a therapy plan tailored to their individual needs. Together, you'll support your child to build confidence, strengthen relationships and develop lifelong emotional and social skills.
